Bharat is an  Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and jointly produced by Atul AgnihotriAlvira Khan AgnihotriBhushan KumarKrishan Kumar, Nikhil Namit and Salman Khan. The film stars Salman Khan, Katrina KaifTabu, and Disha Patani, with Varun Dhawan in a cameo appearance. Principal photography began in June 2018 and Bharat is scheduled for a theatrical release on 5th June 2019 on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr This is an official adaptation of the 2014 South Korean film Ode to My Father[1]

Production[edit]

Bharat began its principal photography in late June 2018,[2] and it will be shot in various locations, including Abu DhabiSpainMaltaPunjab and Delhi.[3][4] Priyanka Chopra, who was cast as one of the leading ladies, opted out of the film days before filming her scenes.[5] Nikhil Namit, the CEO of Reel Life Productions, said that Priyanka quit due to her engagement with Nick Jonas.[6] She was subsequently replaced with Katrina Kaif.[7]

Promotion and release[edit]

Salman Khan posted a glimpse of Katrina Kaif and himself from the film on his Instagram account on 25 August 2018.[8]
On 14 August 2018 a small 48 second teaser was released to officially announce the film and its release date.
Another teaser of the film was released on 25 January 2019.[9] The 1 minute 28 second teaser featured different looks adored by Salman Khan including a navy officer, a miner, an oldman and a stuntman in circus. Within 24 hours, it broke many records for Indian film teaser on YouTube, with more than 21.7 million views.

Release[edit]

Bharat is scheduled to be released on 5 June 2019 on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.[10]
